1933 Ford Model 40 Deluxe 5 Window Coupe
The 1933 Ford Model 40 Deluxe 5 window coupe, like this one, featured noticeable changes from the Model B.
The x-frame chassis was lengthened four inches to 112 inches. All ’33 Fords received an updated 75 horsepower Flathead V8. These updates featured revised cooling, improved ignition, aluminum cylinder heads, and higher compression.
The fenders were valenced, and new center-dip single piece bumpers were added. In addition, the iconic sloping shovel grille appeared for the first time.
The grille and hood louvers both curved down and forward.
The cars got a new dashboard with instruments set in an oval insert in front of the driver. A glove box was placed on the passenger side.
Closed deluxe models, like this one, for instance, had a woodgrain finish on dash and window frames, along with improved seat cushions.
17-inch wire wheels and a rumble seat storage compartment were also features that were added.
Finally, I’ve got to say that this 1933 Ford Model 40 is one beautiful classic Ford. I’m sure glad we had the chance to see.
